Student Government Association

Maine Maritime Academy’s Student Government Association (SGA) is an elected body that represents the students of MMA according to the SGA Constitution. SGA represents the student body regarding any issues or concerns and works to ensure the rights of the students are upheld in accordance with Maine Maritime’s mission statement and purpose. SGA strives to promote the social and personal growth, as well as the general welfare, of the student body. The Student Government is comprised of an executive board, class officers, and various senators that represent the academic areas and characteristics of the student body and their community. All full-time students at MMA are encouraged to attend open student government meetings and to participate fully in their proceedings.

The SGA office is located on the lower level of the Student Union across from the Student Mailroom and office hours for Fall 2022 will soon be posted on the door.  Please know hours are subject to change without notice. For more information about SGA please contact us at sga@mma.edu.

Fall 2022 SGA Open Meetings:

The Fall 2022 Open Meetings will be held from 8pm-9pm in Holmes Heritage conference room in the lower level of Alfond unless otherwise noted on the Agenda.  The dates are: Tues., Sept. 20, Tues., Oct. 4, Tues., Oct. 18, Tues., Nov. 1, Tues., Nov. 15, Tues., Nov. 29, Tues., Dec. 13.

The Executive Board will meet on all opposite Tuesdays.

Important Information for Clubs & Organizations

Clubs & Organizations will be asked to submit club reactivation forms by TBD.  Elections for club leadership should be held during the same timeframe as SGA so that forms are being submitted by the new club leadership.  New Club forms will be due on the same date.
